Lion’s Head in Cape Town is the distinctive shaped mountain slope found alongside Table Mountain. The proud lion overlooks the city and Table Bay on one side, and the scenic Atlantic Ocean coastline on the other.
On clear days, the views from atop are spectacular and ideal for taking pictures of the Cape Peninsula and Robben Island. Although the hike up is considered by many to be short (maximum one hour, 30 minutes), don’t be fooled as there are steep inclines and in some areas ladders with chains to assist in the ascent. This hike is not advisable for young children or the elderly.
